Welcome to the of the Bangladesh High Commission, Ottawa. We hope to provide you with a window of opportunity to know about Bangladesh, its people and the rich resources and opportunities the country offers to visitors, tourists, investors and businesspeople.

At the same time it has been designed to cater the consular needs of the prospective visitors, Bangladeshi Canadians and local residents of Bangladeshi origin. They would find a wide-range of information about the High Commission’s services and activities. Among other things, the site provides downloadable forms for passport, visa and other consular services along with appropriate advice.

Bangladesh High Commission in Ottawa started its function in May 1972 and since its opening it has been working closely with the friendly people and Government of Canada. Bangladesh and Canada share common views on various international issues and work together in the Commonwealth, the United Nations and in other international fora. The Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) has been an important development partner of Bangladesh since our independence and CIDA considers Bangladesh as a "country of focus." The bilateral trade relations between the two countries have been intensified recently following Canadian government’s announcement to grant duty and quota free access of Bangladesh’s products to Canada since January 2003.
